Ferarri driver spotted doing 161 km/hr near Chilliwack has his vehicle impounded
CHILLIWACK — A man had his Ferrari impounded after being clocked doing 161 km/h in a 100 km/h zone along Highway 1 near Popkum Sunday (May 14) afternoon.
In a news release, BC Highway Patrol says an officer was conducting speed enforcement duties when he spotted the white Ferrari making multiple lane changes at a high rate of speed.
Once police stopped the vehicle, they found the driver, a 30-year-old man from the lower mainland, was driving with his pet bulldog on his lap.
“Driving any vehicle at this rate of speed with or without an animal on your lap is dangerous for all involved,” said Constable Blair Fuller of the B.C. Highway Patrol. “Driving with a pet on your lap can interfere with your ability to safely control the vehicle.”
