
Chilliwack first responders converge at Evans Rd. railroad looking for missing senior
CHILLIWACK — At least 10 first responders, including Chilliwack RCMP, Chilliwack Fire Department, B.C. Ambulance, and Chilliwack Search and Rescue, responded to the railroad tracks near 6735 Evans Road in Chilliwack Tuesday night on the report of a Chilliwack senior who went missing.
According to a male and female who live near 6735 Evans Road in Chilliwack, a missing Chilliwack senior who went missing earlier in the day Tuesday (May 2) was reportedly found alive in the bushes along the railroad tracks sometime Tuesday around 8 p.m. The male and female were standing out in their front yard watching first responders gather not far from their home.
Chilliwack RCMP Sgt. Krista Vrolyk confirmed Wednesday morning at 9:04 a.m. that the senior was located at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday night.
A team of approximately four non-uniformed personnel, possibly from Chilliwack Search and Rescue, could be seen at about 8:05 p.m. hustling northbound on Evans Road and making a right heading along the railroad tracks, with a stretcher. Similarly, a male RCMP officer with a salt and pepper beard could be seen literally running eastbound on the railroad tracks.
