RCMP, CVSE crack down on unsafe commercial vehicles in the Chilliwack area
CHILLIWACK — The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure tweeted Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 26) that the B.C. Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement agency teamed up with RCMP officers from Chilliwack and Burnaby for a commercial vehicle safety initiative in the Chilliwack area last week.
CVSE staff partnered with RCMP officers from the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment and the Burnaby RCMP detachment, along with the city of Chilliwack, sometime last week for what it calls a “targeted safety inspection blitz.”
A total of 43 vehicles were stopped roadside, of which 19 tickets were issued, and 26 vehicles were placed out of service, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) said in its tweet at 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 26.
“Thanks to all involved for keeping #BCHwys safe!” MOTI tweeted.
