Abbotsford Police pull over 20-year-old man for ridiculous speed in Sumas Prairie
ABBOTSFORD — With no buses running in the Fraser Valley due to the ongoing transit strike, an area motorist will have to ride shotgun or take a taxi to get places for a while after he was clocked at a ridiculous rate of speed Tuesday night in Sumas Prairie east of Abbotsford.
The Abbotsford Police Department wrote on Twitter Wednesday that patrol officers observed what appears to be a two-door coupe-type vehicle traveling 152 kilometres an hour in a posted 70-km zone sometime Tuesday evening. The exact location was not disclosed by police.
The Abbotsford Police Department posted a picture of one of its truck units with flashing lights pulled to the side of the road.
“Needless to say, the 20-year-old driver lost his car for 7 days and was issued an excessive speeding ticket,” Abbotsford Police wrote on Twitter, adding a hashtag of “Road Safety Matters.”
