Sparkes Corn Barn hiring for the 2023 season
CHILLIWACK — Locals know that once the dog days of summertime arrive, it won’t be long until legendary Chilliwack corn is destined for dinner plates throughout the Fraser Valley.
One of the growers and sellers of Chilliwack corn, Sparkes Corn Barn, whose green and yellow shacks abound throughout the summer, wrote on its Facebook page that it is now hiring students for the 2023 season.
Sparkes Corn Barn has corn barn positions in Abbotsford, Agassiz, and Chilliwack. According to a job posting on the Sparkes Facebook page, team members should be friendly, self-starting, motivated, and hard-working. Applications are now being accepted for the 2023 season. Sparkes is also looking to expand its team by hiring for a managerial position for a fast-paced office in Chilliwack. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, inbound and outbound freight, tracking inventory, and daily crop and GAP documentation. Farming background and bookkeeping experience are an asset but not required. Full-time, in-person work, not remote, begins at 6 a.m. for the months of April through October. The salary is $24/hour. Flexible winter hours are available.
