Cheam Leisure Centre increasing operating hours

CHILLIWACK — Cheam Leisure Centre announced Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 14) that it will increase its operating hours.

Starting Monday, March 20, the city-owned, YMCA-operated facility will be open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Swimming pool hours may vary; recreation staff ask customers to check its aquatic schedule. Hours also may vary on statutory holidays.

The updated hours means the Cheam Leisure Centre will be open 97 operating hours per week.

Previously, the Cheam Leisure Centre had been open Mondays and Tuesdays 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursdays 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (no change); Fridays 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sundays 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre updated their hours Tuesday evening to indicate it will be open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, starting Monday, March 20 as well.

The Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre was previously open Mondays to Thursdays 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (weight room only).
