Abbotsford woman arrested for discharging pellet gun at police
ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police have arrested a 49-year-old Abbotsford woman after she discharged a pellet gun at police early Sunday morning (March 12).
In a statement from Sgt. Paul Walker Tuesday, Abbotsford Police Department plainclothes officers were conducting routine patrol early Sunday, March 12 at 12:36 a.m. in the 31900 block of South Fraser Way when officers located a group of people gathered on the property, prompting an investigation.
As officers approached the group in their unmarked police vehicle, a female emerged from the group and pointed a firearm toward the officer’s vehicle and fired, striking the police unit’s windshield, and causing minor damage.
Sgt. Walker of the Abbotsford PD said officers immediately exited their vehicle, identified themselves as police, and executed a high-risk arrest. The female complied with the direction of police and dropped the firearm, which was later found to be a pellet gun.
