Traffic stop leads RCMP to seize drugs, ammo and cash in Agassiz
AGASSIZ — A simple traffic stop Monday night (March 6) in Agassiz by RCMP officers resulted in Mounties arresting a man and woman who possessed illegal drugs associated with drug trafficking, firearms ammunition, and significant cash.
According to a news release from Sgt. Mike Sargent of the Agassiz RCMP detachment, members of the Agassiz RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 7200 block of Pioneer Avenue in downtown Agassiz Monday night, March 6 at approximately 11 p.m.
The vehicle was found to have a stolen rear license plate. Police say a man and woman were arrested; a subsequent search of the vehicle produced a quantity of illicit drugs consistent with trafficking, various types of firearm ammunition, and a significant amount of cash.
