Abbotsford Police say a 48-year-old has died following crash on South Parallel Rd. Friday
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department announced Friday night that a 48-year-old driver has died in the single-vehicle collision that blocked both directions of Highway 1 between Whatcom Road (exit 95) and Sumas Way (exit 92) Friday afternoon.
In a news release, Abbotsford Police Department patrol officers encountered a serious collision on Friday, Feb. 24 at 2:29 p.m. in the 35400 block of South Parallel Road in Abbotsford while they were conducting routine patrols.
Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle which had left the roadway and collided with a parked commercial trailer. First responders provided lifesaving medical care, but regrettably, the 48-year-old driver suffered fatal injuries, according to Sgt. Paul Walker, media relations spokesperson for the Abbotsford Police Department.
AbbyPD Patrol officers are in the early stages of this investigation and are being assisted by the Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Service (ICARS). All roads in the area have since reopened to vehicle traffic.
