CHILLIWACK — Three suspects involved in a commercial burglary of a business in the 42200 block of Industrial Way in January have been released from custody and now await a court date in mid-March.

Last week, Chilliwack RCMP announced they were looking to return two stolen Husqvarna chainsaws in connection with a commercial break and enter in early January.

On Monday, February 20, Chilliwack RCMP Sgt. Krista Vrolyk reported that the three suspects consist of a 53-year-old Chilliwack man, a 44-year-old Chilliwack man, and a 55-year-old Chilliwack woman. They have been released from police custody pending their first court appearance which is slated for Tuesday, March 14.

Unfortunately, because the suspects have not yet had their first appearance in court, Sgt. Vrolyk advised she was unable to release their names at this time.

The three alleged crooks were caught in the act as they attempted to flee from the business on Industrial Way back on January 8. Police arrived on scene and located the suspects in a vehicle as it was attempting to leave the property and flee from police.

A search of the business indicated property had just been stolen from the business; RCMP did not identify the business name in a news release. Chilliwack RCMP are still hoping to reunite these two Husqvarna chainsaws with their rightful owner.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the lawful owner of these saws to contact police. Anyone who has information or wants to claim the chainsaws should contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611, and quote file number 2023-962. Any claimants will be required to provide proof of purchase or ownership.
