ABBOTSFORD — A 17-year-old teenager must have had an interesting conversation with his family after the Abbotsford Police Department clocked him driving at a ridiculous rate of speed earlier this week, resulting in the seizure of his vehicle.

According to a social media post from the Abbotsford PD, patrol officers observed two vehicles traveling at 147 kilometers an hour in a posted 80 kilometer zone on Highway 11, which runs from exit 92 north to the city of Mission. The picture taken by Abbotsford patrol officers of one of the speeding vehicles appears to show a rural area surrounded by farms. One of the two vehicles is an older two-door Honda Civic coupe.

Abbotsford Police say both vehicles were impounded and excessive speeding tickets were issued.

“We appreciate the supportive parents during this life lesson,” Abbotsford Police wrote on Twitter.
