
Crooks smash Canco gas station store entrance, make off with tobacco products
AGASSIZ — Agassiz RCMP are investigating a glass break alarm at the Canco gas station west of town in which two crooks smashed the glass door, broke into the store and made off with tobacco products.
According to a police statement from Sgt. Mike Sargent, Agassiz RCMP responded to a glass break alarm at the Canco gas station at 2406 Hot Springs Road Wednesday morning, February 8 at 3:39 a.m.
Police learned that two men had smashed the glass entrance door to the gas station’s convenience store and gained access to the building. During the brief time the crooks were inside the store, quantities of various cigarette products were taken and the suspects fled before police could arrive, Sgt. Sargent said.
The two male suspects are described as wearing dark clothing and dark hoodies with their faces covered. The suspects are associated with a white Chevrolet sedan.
