CHILLIWACK — In this week’s instalment of “For Pets’ Sake” as heard on 89.5 JR Country, there’s a pretty awesome dog available for adoption at the CARE animal centre in Chilliwack, located at 44860 Wolfe Road.

She goes by the name of “Billie Howliday” but staff there at CARE, or Community Animal Response and Education Centre, say Billie is the happiest dog ever.

“She isn’t vocal like her surname might suggest – in fact, she’s very quiet!” 89.5 JR Country wrote on Facebook earlier today (Tuesday, Feb. 7); staff at CARE provided the description of the dog. “Billie is beautiful and athletic – she would absolutely thrive in a sport like agility! Billie can run like the wind and loves to do it – she looks like a cheetah when she covers the yard in just a few strides.”

The CARE Centre temporarily houses lost, stray and impounded dogs. Our dedicated staff provide quality medical care, nutrition, socialization and exercise to the dogs in our care. Some of these dogs are waiting to be claimed by their owners, while others are being evaluated to determine their adoption needs.

In this case, Billie is about a year and a half old and has what staff say is an amazing life ahead of her. She is a spayed female Shepherd mix, is fairly tall, and weighs in at about 75 pounds of love.

“She could go to a home with older kids and possibly another well-matched dog. If you have an active lifestyle and would like a companion, come to CARE and meet Ms. Billie!” the Facebook post from 89.5 JR Country read.

The Chilliwack CARE Centre is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The centre can be reached at 1-844-495-2273 (CARE).
