Chilliwack Chiefs presenting Matthew Hutchinson Memorial Awards Saturday at the Coliseum
CHILLIWACK — Matthew Hutchinson passed away tragically in 2016, but the Chilliwack Chiefs make it a point to honour him, a former volunteer firefighter and Chilliwack Chief, every year as part of its First Responders Night.
The Chiefs plan to remember him and salute first responders and essential public safety personnel this Saturday, February 11 when they present the annual Matthew Hutchinson Memorial Awards ahead of its game against Surrey Eagles at the Chilliwack Coliseum. Puck drop is 6 p.m.
As part of First Responders Night, presented by Joint Force Tactical, awards will be presented by members of the Hutchinson family.
After Hutchinson’s unexpected passing in 2016, the Chiefs have made it a priority to honour his life and commitment to service by partnering with local first responders to celebrate their own each year.
