Abbotsford Police investigate armed robbery at vape store

ABBOTSFORD — The Major Crime Unit from the Abbotsford Police Department is investigating after a Caucasian male suspect produced a firearm, pointed it towards an employee, and robbed a vape shop in the 31700 block of South Fraser Way in mid-January.

According to a press release Friday morning from Sgt. Paul Walker, media relations spokesperson with the department, Abbotsford Police patrol officers responded to a robbery in progress on Saturday night, January 14 at 9:31 p.m.

Police said a lone man entered the store, produced a firearm, and fled after obtaining money and store merchandise.

Video of the armed robbery has been released by the Major Crime Unit to help advance the investigation, police said. Footage shows the suspect wait for money with a gun pointed at a store employee before the male exits the vape shop.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male dressed in all-black clothing, wearing distinct tan-colored shoes, and carrying a green dollar store cloth bag.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help by seeking witnesses and dashcam footage from anyone who traveled in the area around the 31700 block of South Fraser Way in Abbotsford, between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday, January 14. Contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
