CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP and other first responders were dispatched to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision that involved a vehicle lodged on its side and another damaged car Sunday night (Jan. 29) in Chilliwack.

At least four RCMP units attended the Vedder Road overpass in the northbound lanes at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday night, along with Chilliwack Fire Department personnel, B.C. Ambulance, and a tow truck, following some kind of vehicle crash and/or collision.

Vehicle traffic northbound over the Vedder Road overpass (Exit 119) was rerouted and detoured onto Highway 1 eastbound from the collision scene, courtesy of Chilliwack firefighters.

Southbound traffic on Vedder Road was still being let through.

Several vehicles being rerouted slowed to observe the unfortunate scene.

Two Chilliwack Mounties were seen standing just feet away from the vehicle on its side in the northbound lanes of Vedder Road.

A second vehicle, possibly a Dodge Journey, incurred significant damage to the front of its vehicle. It was positioned as if it were headed eastbound on Highway 1 at the apex of the Vedder Road overpass.
