Chilliwack RCMP investigating death at Lickman Road train crossing

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP responded to a fatal collision involving a train and a pedestrian Monday morning in Chilliwack. The incident occurred at the Lickman Road crossing for CN Rail trains.

A 25 year-old-man with ties to Chilliwack was killed in the collision. Investigators do not suspect any criminality in the case.

The crash closed Lickman Road for several hours in the morning but it has since been reopened to traffic.

Chilliwack RCMP have expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the 25-year-old who passed.

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences to the man’s family and friends and all those affected by this loss,” the Chilliwack RCMP tweeted Monday afternoon.
