City of Chilliwack sets up new outdoor chess tables outside Chilliwack Landing

CHILLIWACK — Whether it’s the addition of public drinking fountains in certain parks parks, or multi-use game areas on both sides of the highway, the City of Chilliwack is trying to improve public amenities little by little.

The City of Chilliwack wrote on Twitter Thursday morning (Jan. 12) that it has added two chess tables to an area adjacent to the multi-use game areas outside the Chilliwack Landing building.

“Calling all chess players! You can now bring your pieces down to the Landing (next to the multi-use game area) to enjoy a game at one of these new tables,” the City tweeted.

Chilliwack introduced two multi-use game areas in July 2022. One is located at the Landing (9145 Corbould Street), while the other is located at Watson Glen Park (5775 Tyson Road).
