Chilliwack Chiefs smash BCHL attendance record Saturday night at the Coliseum
CHILLIWACK — Everyone came out a winner at Saturday night’s Chilliwack Chiefs game at the Chilliwack Coliseum.
Not only did the home team emerge with a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Cranbrook Bucks, the Chilliwack Chiefs set a B.C. Hockey League attendance record with 5,008 fans in attendance on a night that saw former Vancouver Canuck Trevor Linden drop the puck and delight fans by signing autographs.
“Thank you, Chilliwack,” the Chiefs wrote on Facebook. “You have just helped us set the new BCHL attendance record with 5,008 at the Chilliwack Coliseum. We are so lucky to be a part of an incredible community.”
On Dairy Appreciation Night, the Chiefs fell behind 3-0 but responded with four unanswered goals. Nathan Morin scored in in the first period, AJ Lacroix followed with two goals in the second period to tie it at 3-3, and Abram Wiebe had the go-ahead game winner to make it 4-3.
