18 impaired drivers pulled off Abbotsford roads over New Year’s
ABBOTSFORD — Despite ample warnings, 18 drivers took to Abbotsford streets under a form of legal impairment because of drugs or alcohol. And now they are paying for it after a night of enforcement by members of the Abbotsford Police Department.
In a tweet New Year’s Day, the police department announced it had removed five drivers from the streets and served them with 90-day driving prohibitions for either refusing or failing an impairment test.
Six others were issued 3-day driving prohibitions while another seven were given 24-hour prohibitions.
The totals were taken over a period running from December 31 to January 1, 2023.
