CHILLIWACK — B.C. Transit posted on its website Thursday morning (Dec. 22) at 6:26 a.m. that it is experiencing a lack of employees due to a staff shortage and/or seasonal illnesses.

As a result, the public transit operator advised, schedules may be altered on a very short notice to adjust to its operational capacities.

“The Chilliwack Transit system is currently experiencing service challenges due to employee shortage/illness,” B.C. Transit wrote on its website. “The impacts to service have resulted in the need to alter schedules on short notice to reflect changing conditions/cancel the following routes: #66 FVX, 8:11 a.m., Lougheed Skytrain Station to Downtown Chilliwack.”

B.C. Transit says it will work to reduce the impact on its customers by immediately posting alerts on its website.
