Fraser Valley residents warned against non-essential travel as new storm brews
VANCOUVER – Environment Canada is warning residents of Chilliwack and Abbotsford to avoid driving if possible, as another winter storm targets the Fraser Valley Monday evening.
It has issued a winter storm warning for the Fraser Valley, forecasting up to 20 cm of snow to fall over the region late Monday evening through Tuesday. Exacerbating the problem will be strong winds which could reduce visibility to zero.
The national weather agency says a low pressure system is arriving in Washington State tonight. The associated front will brush through the very southern part of British Columbia giving another round of heavy snow starting late this evening.
It says motorists should postpone non-essential travel and suggests the Tuesday commutes could be significantly impacted by the storm.
