CHILLIWACK — As Chilliwack grows in leaps and bounds like it has the past five years, the addition of a new licensed preschool in Sardis should come as welcome news to parents.

The Chilliwack School District announced earlier this week that a new licensed child care facility will open at Watson Elementary in January.

SD33 wrote on its Facebook page Tuesday (Dec. 13) that it is currently accepting registrations for children born in 2018. The preschool will open January 9, 2023 and operate under the name of “Just B4 Preschool.”

“Our Just B4 Preschool program employs certified Early Childhood Educators to provide a positive and nurturing early learning experience while supporting children as they learn, grow and transition to kindergarten,” SD33 wrote on its Facebook page.

In making the announcement, the district gratefully acknowledged financial assistance from the provincial government through the Ministry of Education and Child Care to help fund the preschool.

Program times and days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at a cost of $180 per month, or Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at a cost of $120 per month.

Eligible families may apply for the B.C. Affordable Child Care Benefit Subsidy to assist with preschool fees.
