Ann Davis, UFV to honour Montreal Massacre victims at vigil tonight
CHILLIWACK — Their names and memories are etched into the hearts of their family members and into the consciousness of a grieving nation.
To preserve their legacy on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, University of the Fraser Valley and the Ann Davis Transition Society will hold a candlelight vigil tonight at 9046 Young Road at 5 p.m.
Attendees are asked to bring a candlelight to tonight’s vigil as UFV and Ann Davis cherish the memory of these 14 women who were ruthlessly killed. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served afterward.
“UFV is pleased to partner with the Ann Davis Transition Society on this important day of remembrance and action. In order to enact change, we must all consider what we can do in the days, months, and years ahead to play a role in eliminating gender-based violence,” said UFV President and Vice-Chancellor Joanne MacLean.
