CHILLIWACK — E-Comm 911, B.C.’s largest emergency communications centre, posted on Twitter Tuesday morning (Nov. 29) that Telus will be performing planned phone service maintenance in Chilliwack, Sardis and Abbotsford this week.

The planned service outage is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30 at 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday morning, December 1. Landline phone service will be impacted, so the utility/telecommunications company is asking people to plan ahead.

The planned phone service maintenance means landline-only users with Telus in Chilliwack, Sardis and Abbotsford will be offline for approximately 7 hours.

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, residents are asked to use a cell phone to dial 911. In the event no cell phone service is available, please head to a police or fire department if able, E-Comm 911 wrote on Twitter.
