Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra presenting Handel’s Messiah Dec. 9-11
CHILLIWACK — A respected and celebrated tradition of the Christmas season returns for another glorious performance courtesy of the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra and its talented musicians and soloists.
The Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra Baroque Ensemble, Belle Voci and professional soloists will present Handel’s Messiah, conducted by Paula DeWit, on Friday, December 9 through Sunday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
St. James Catholic Church in Abbotsford is the nearest venue for Chilliwack residents. It will host the Messiah performance on Friday, December 9, while Holy Rosary Cathedral in Vancouver will be the venue on Saturday, Dec. 10, and Fleetwood Christian Reformed Church in Surrey is the host venue on Sunday, Dec. 11.
This best-loved oratorio includes favourites such as “Hallelujah” and “The Trumpet Shall Sound.” Together they present this glorious oratorio, a musical rite of the Christmas season.
