CHILLIWACK — B.C. Hydro emailed its customers Friday evening (Nov. 18) with further information about the $100 cost of living credit, following the installation of David Eby as the 37th premier of British Columbia.

B.C. Hydro explained in its email to customers that eligible B.C. Hydro residential customers will receive a one-time cost of living credit.

More specifically, the $100 credit will be applied automatically to customers’ next B.C. Hydro bill after December 4. Customers need to have an active account as of that date.

A notification will appear in customers’ MyHydro account once the credit has been applied.

Customers do not need to take any action, B.C. Hydro wrote in the email.

Customers on a pre-authorized payment plan will see their next payment amount reduced by $100 to reflect this credit.

The one-time $100 credit is limited to one credit per account holder.

Business customers will receive a one-time bill credit. For most business customers, the credit amount will range from about $350 to $500 and is determined based on its usage in proportion to all business customers, B.C. Hydro said on its website.

The credit for business customers will be automatically applied to their next B.C. Hydro bill after December 18. Business customers do not need to take any further action.
