Dock restoration work at Cultus Lake Main Beach going on one month now
CHILLIWACK — Construction crews are well on their way to restoring the Cultus Lake docks following last year’s atmospheric river events at Main Beach.
Reconstruction of the Cultus Lake main beach docks began on September 20 following the unprecedented rain and wind events of November 2021.
“The Main Beach foreshore area will be inaccessible until further notice to accommodate storage of heavy equipment and materials for the dock installation,” the park board said in a news release back in September. “For public safety, residents and guests should refrain from accessing the fenced area for duration of the work. The foreshore pathway will remain accessible to enjoy docks that are currently open.”
Twenty-two docks will be repaired or replaced, according to Joe Lamb, chief administrative officer for Cultus Lake Park Board.
