Chilliwack voters welcome five incumbents back and a fresh new face to City Council
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack voters have welcomed back all five incumbents who ran for re-election and a fresh new face as their six city council members.
With all polls reporting Saturday night at 10:12 p.m., Councillor Jason Lum led all 12 council candidates with 10,766 votes. Lum, the top vote getter in 2018, is a small business owner who was first elected to council in 2011. He currently serves as chair of the Fraser Valley Regional District Board of Directors and serves on a host of committees.
“It feels fantastic,” Lum said Saturday night by phone after the final results came in. “We had a lot of fun tonight. That’s what’s important to me.”
Lum attributed his successful campaign to what happened outside of the campaign period.
