Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl named Shadow Minister for Transport by Opposition leader Pierre Poilievre
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl has been appointed as Shadow Minister for Transport by CPC leader Pierre Poilievre, leader of the federal Opposition.
Strahl’s Transport portfolio includes the rail, air, marine, port and interprovincial road transportation sectors. His appointment comes at a critical time as Strahl argues the Trudeau government has struggled to address various issues including jammed ports, dysfunctional airports, supply chain issues, and the aftermath of what he calls the disastrous ArriveCAN app.
“The failed policies of this NDP-Liberal coalition are costing Canadians who rely on the transportation sector. Their decisions have created world-worst wait times at our airports and have overwhelmed our supply chains, and their plans to triple the carbon tax will further drive up the cost of everything that needs to be transported across the country,” said Strahl.
Strahl, who was first elected to represent Chilliwack in Parliament in 2011, said Conservatives will continue to highlight the challenges faced by Canadians amid rising inflation and increasing food costs.
