Environment Canada warns of strong winds across Fraser Valley on Thanksgiving Monday

CHILLIWACK — There is another weather threat across British Columbia as the Thanksgiving weekend winds down.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement because of concerns over high winds. The statement covers nearly the entire province.
The national weather agency expects a cold front will sweep through the province Monday, producing the first wind event of the season for the South Coast. The strong winds could gust up to 60 km/h across the Fraser Valley, which may toss loose objects into the air and cause drought-weakened tree branches to break and fall to the ground. That could lead to injuries, and potentially power failures.
The winds are expected to abate late Monday.
