CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack Search and Rescue personnel have been called in to assist in the ongoing effort to locate 43-year-old Tammy White.

According to RCMP Sgt. Krista Vrolyk, media spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP detachment in Chilliwack, investigators located her vehicle earlier this week.

White’s vehicle was found unoccupied on Old Orchard Road near the Fraser River on Monday, October 3, the same day that she was reported missing to the public by the RCMP.

Sgt. Vrolyk said Thursday morning (Oct. 6) there were no signs of an altercation or physical distress around her vehicle or inside her vehicle.

“We can obviously account for her earlier in the day on October 3,” Sgt. Vrolyk said. “There were no signs of distress. Hopefully we can locate her and provide some answers.”

Chilliwack Search and Rescue have conducted searches of the Fraser River and shoreline, Sgt. Vrolyk said.

Air One, the RCMP helicopter based out of the E Division, has also conducted an aerial search of the river and associated shoreline, Sgt. Vrolyk said.

The investigation has not moved to a recovery at this point, rather it is still considered a missing person investigation, Sgt. Vrolyk clarified.

Chilliwack RCMP continue to ask for the public’s help in locating White. She is described as a Caucasian female, 5’7″ tall, 161 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes.

Chilliwack RCMP urge anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact police at 604-792-4611 or, should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
