Fire breaks out at Mountainview Mobile Home Park in Sardis

CHILLIWACK — A fire broke out Saturday afternoon at a trailer home at the Mountainview Mobile Home Park in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Sardis.

At least six fire engines and two B.C. Ambulance units responded to the report of a trailer on fire. RCMP units also attended to limit vehicular access in and out of the cul de sac except for emergency personnel.

Firefighters quickly established a water supply and extinguished the fire. The trailer unit still appeared somewhat intact from the outside, though burn marks could be seen on the exterior of the mobile home unit above a door frame and a window.

The victim, an older male, was reportedly transported via ambulance, several neighbours at the scene reported.

This isn’t the first time a fire has broken out at the same residence, according to neighbours.
