Evacuation orders rescinded for Laidlaw, Flood Hope and Hunter Creek areas west of Hope near Flood Falls Trail fire

FLOOD HOPE — All evacuation orders and alerts for properties in Hunter Creek, Flood Hope, and Laidlaw have been rescinded by the Fraser Valley Regional District and District of Hope.

The two agencies made the announcement Tuesday evening, Sept. 13. However, the Flood Falls Trail fire remains an estimated 545 hectares in size.

While the evacuation orders and alerts have been cancelled, the danger may reoccur caused by lightning strikes or a change in the prevailing winds.

B.C. Wildfire Service continues to attack the fire with 64 firefighters, 5 helicopters, and 2 heavy equipment, according to its website which was last updated Tuesday night, Sept. 13.
