BC Culture Days celebrating arts in the Fraser Valley

ABBOTSFORD — Three weeks of colour, creativity, and education are coming to the Fraser Valley this fall thanks to BC Culture Days—a collaborative movement dedicated to providing free, hands-on, and interactive arts and culture activities.

Nazanin Shoja, BC Culture Days Program Director, said she is proud to share the line-up of events for this year’s celebrations with residents.

“Participating organizers are offering both thought-provoking and joyful events, inviting the public to take part in the many creative activities that help bring communities together to collaborate, share stories, and celebrate one another,” said Shoja.

This year’s theme is Earth Endeavours, and eight selected ambassadors will share their featured projects, considering nature, the climate crisis, post-pandemic recovery, and truth and reconciliation.

Emilie Kvist is the Abbotsford and Mission ambassador, and she has hosted two hiking workshops in July, one in Mission and one in Abbotsford. A micro-documentary exploring the process and results of the hike will be released during Culture Days.

BC Culture Days is in its 13th year and will run from Sept. 23 until Oct. 26.

Follow @BCCultureDays on social media and search for the hashtag #EarthEndeavours2022 to join the ambassadors on their journeys this summer and fall.
