CHILLIWACK — Amber Price is a well-known community member in the city of Chilliwack—between organizing the Chilliwack Mural Festival and running a successful family business, The Book Man, Price is now undertaking her latest venture of running for a seat on city council.

Price said her family and friends have been instrumental in being the catalyst for the start of her journey toward council.

“I’m grateful for the invaluable input and support that I have received from friends, family, colleagues, and fellow community members that encouraged me to put my name forward,” she said.

Price currently sits on the boards of Chilliwack’s Creative Commission, Chilliwack Community Arts Council, Ena’s Community Cats, and the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation.

Recently, the hopeful council candidate was awarded a BC Medal of Good Citizenship for her service to the community during the pandemic.

“Chilliwack is growing and changing at a rapid pace, and it’s imperative that we have diverse voices at the table to ensure that we don’t leave community members behind,” she said. “I am passionate about contributing to our city and promise to bring my heart to City Hall.”

Amber resides on Fairfield Island with her husband, Adam, and their seven-year-old son, Julian; she has created a multi-generational home to ensure that her parents are well-cared for as they age.

Price’s campaign will launch at the end of September.
