CHILLIWACK — The Pacific Region Training Centre in Chilliwack welcomed 11 newly hired, experienced police officers (EPOs) to its facility earlier this summer for a brief on-boarding before they got dispatched to detachments across Canada as the newest members of the RCMP.

The veteran officers completed their RCMP on-boarding and graduated with their troop last week. The officers joined the RCMP from police forces nation-wide and will be assigned to detachments in Kitimat, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Fort Nelson, West Shore, Federal Policing and Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team.

As these officers already bring with them a wealth of knowledge and skill, they attended a modified three-week troop, for orientation to the RCMP. The training took place at the PRTC in Chilliwack and included courses in RCMP interviewing techniques, policy and procedures and tactical training. The officers will be reporting to their first posting this week.
