CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Fair pulled out all the stops for its weekend of fun Friday, giving people of all ages a local venue to experience a festive environment of food, entertainment, and shopping.

Some sights were jaw-dropping, such as the breathtaking acrobatics of motocross daredevils, while others evoked a sort of Western farm feel.

At any rate, thousands of Chilliwack residents and other Fraser Valley visitors gathered Friday for Day 1 of the 150th Chilliwack Fair on the grounds of Heritage Park under gorgeous sunny skies and seasonably warm summer weather.

Over a dozen food and beverage trucks beckoned to hungry and thirsty passersby, including South Asian cuisine from celebrated Chilliwack restaurant Shandhar Hut, shawarma, hot dogs and smokies from Corner Kick Concessions, and mini doughnuts, just to name a few.

Interesting vendors offering “Chicken on Tires” and handcrafted ice cream rolls complemented the diverse food offerings.
