Abbotsford Police, IHIT investigate death of 45-year-old female; suspect taken into custody

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) are investigating the death of a 45-year-old female that happened sometime Thursday (Jul. 28) afternoon in central Abbotsford.

Police responded Thursday at 4:44 p.m. to a report of an assault in progress at a residence in the 2900 block of Eastview Street, just east of the Clearbrook area of town.

On arrival, Abbotsford Police members located a 45-year-old female suffering from life-threatening injuries. Tragically, the female succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

While police acknowledged Thursday they are in the preliminary stage of the investigation, a 48-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and is known to the victim. He remains in police custody.
