Hope firefighters became aware of the fire after Hope RCMP personnel tipped them off.

“Hope Fire Department extends thanks to the RCMP for identifying and reporting the structure fire while on patrol,” Hope Fire Dept. said.

Just prior to the structure fire on Flood Hope Road, two fire engines and five Hope firefighters responded to a vehicle fire near Hwy 1 on American Creek Forest Service Road at about 3:59 p.m. Wednesday.

In that incident, no injuries were reported.
