Aldergrove tractor-trailer driver charged in fatal collision with motorcyclist

QUESNEL – An Aldergrove tractor-trailer driver has been charged in a fatal collision that claimed the life of a 42-year-old motorcyclist on Highway 97 north of Quesnel in July 2025.

According to a statement from BC Highway Patrol spokesperson Sgt. Michael McLaughlin, a Kenworth tractor-trailer collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Highway 97 near Naver Creek Road on July 24, 2025.

The motor vehicle collision killed a 42-year-old Chemainus man who was riding the Harley Davidson.

BC Highway Patrol investigated the crash and forwarded the results to the BC Prosecution Service.

On July 21, 2026, the following charges were approved against Amninder Singh Sran of Aldergrove:

  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, section 320.13(3) of the Criminal Code,
  • Impaired operation of a conveyance causing death, section 320.14(3) of the Criminal Code,
  • Operation of a conveyance with a blood alcohol content over 80 mg/mL causing death, section 320.14(3) of the Criminal Code. 

Sran has been served with a summons to appear in Quesnel Provincial Court on August 18, 2026.
