Locals catch early morning beers in Abbotsford bars for gold medal hockey game
ABBOTSFORD — Some residents started their day with a different kind of cold brew after the City of Abbotsford extended liquor service hours for the Olympic Gold Medal hockey game this morning.
The City announced its decision late Saturday afternoon, in accordance with a one-time provincial ruling that licensed premises across British Columbia may open and serve liquor as early as 5 a.m. today, February 22.
Old Yale Brewing on Laurel Street marked the event with $25 tickets that give fans access to a breakfast buffet and a choice of beer, mimosa or coffee.
Tickets reportedly sold out by Friday evening, and the Canadian Brewhouse was also fully booked as of Saturday.
