New warehouse business selling tools, equipment and home goods plans to open next month in Chilliwack

As of Wednesday morning, February 4, Indeed.ca still contains job postings for a sales and warehouse associate at Uncle Wiener’s Wholesale at 7955 Evans Road in Chilliwack, with wages between $20 and $22 an hour, which exceeds British Columbia’s minimum wage of $17.85 an hour by at least $2/hour.

Umut Acar, senior director of growth and marketing for Uncle Wiener’s Wholesale, told Fraser Valley Today in an email Wednesday morning that its Chilliwack store and warehouse is scheduled to open on Saturday, March 7. The company will look to hire 10 additional people in the initial phase, with the potential for more positions later.

“We are currently seeking sales and warehouse associates, cashiers, and management staff. These positions are filling fast,” Acar said.

It currently has over 18 locations spanning three provinces, including Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Lethbridge, and throughout Alberta. Among the five locations where it plans to open next, Chilliwack is listed as one of the five, along with Moose Jaw, Fort McMurray, Red Deer (South), and Edmonton (South). Its hours are typically 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday.

Uncle Wiener’s Wholesale, which proudly touts itself as being Canadian-owned, says it offers Canadians competitive prices on all types of goods tailored to contractors, hunters, small shop owners and weekend warriors.

When it comes to more of its inventory, Uncle Wiener Wholesale sells all types of fencing and gates, including T-posts, gates, electric fencing and barbed wire; outdoor furniture, living room furniture, sofas, storage and organizers, bedroom furniture and kids furniture; shipping containers, metal storage building and sheds, fabric shelters, mobile office and bathroom containers; automotive tires, semi truck and trailer tires and parts, off-road wheel loader tires, and tires for farm, tractors and ag equipment.

At its warehouses, it offers low-priced “Wiener Binz” featuring overstock items, returns and surprise finds for as low as $2.
