Chilliwack firefighters battle vehicle fire Friday evening

CHILLIWACK – Chilliwack firefighters were called to a vehicle fire on Williams Street northeast of downtown Chilliwack on Friday evening.

According to scanner traffic, and a tip from Chilliwack resident Tyler Man, fire crews were called to the 9400 block of Williams Street at about 6:25 p.m. Friday night (Feb. 13).

Scanner traffic indicated fire crews don’t believe the fire was suspicious.

RCMP members were asked to attend since a tow was required; two of the vehicle’s front tires were reportedly burned.

The vehicle fire was extinguished and overhaul was completed in the past hour.

The vehicle has since been wrapped with tape. Firefighters have cleared from the scene.
