HOPE — It was a busy day of calls for the Hope Fire Department on Tuesday (Oct. 17), highlighted by a blaze involving a single-room residential structure and a nearby RV fully engulfed in flames.

According to a social media post, Hope Fire Department personnel responded to Jason Road near Othello, east of Hope, just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving multiple reports of a possible mobile home on fire. On arrival, crews encountered a small single-room structure and a recreational vehicle fully consumed by fire. Hope Fire says there was also some extension of the fire into nearby trees.

The fires were quickly contained, Hope Fire said, and crews remained on scene until 9 p.m., for what appears to be nearly 2 1/2 hours.

The occupant of the residence sustained minor injuries, and the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
