Nearly 4,000 Hydro customers in Chilliwack without power
**Editor’s note: Power has since been restored to Chilliwack customers.**
CHILLIWACK — Nearly 4,000 BC Hydro customers in Chilliwack are without power Wednesday afternoon due to what BC Hydro calls an equipment failure.
According to a notice on the BC Hydro website, 3,976 customers north of Highway 1 in an area southeast of Yale Road, north of Chilliwack Central Road, and west of Ford Road (Rosedale), are impacted by the power outage.
The outage may have been connected to a smoking Hydro pole at the corner of Cheam Avenue and Young Road, near the Fraser Valley Regional District office and Dairy Queen.
